Merrill Scholarship

Marshalltown natives Darwin and Becky Merrill have established this scholarship to assist local youth in their pursuit of higher education. The Merrills feel strongly that financial obstacles should not prevent worthy students from attaining the liberal arts or vocational training that meets the needs of their employment goals.

Scholarship amounts will vary for 2024-2025.
They will range between $1,000 – $2,500.

Application Criteria:

  • Student must be a Marshall County high school graduate
  • Full-time registration at Marshalltown Community College
  • Financial need will be considered
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Preference will be given to students who demonstrate interaction with the community through activities and volunteerism.

Consideration will begin June 3rd, 2024. Applications received by May 31, 2024, will be guaranteed review. Applications received on June 1 or after will be reviewed if there are still funds to be awarded, and in the order they are received.
